Co-op has introduced a significant update for its numerous online shopping loyalty members.
Members of Co-op can now take advantage of their personalized weekly offers to save money when making online purchases. Previously, these offers were exclusively accessible in physical stores.
The supermarket indicates that shoppers have the potential to save over £80 annually by utilizing personalized offers, which encompass discounts and deals on frequently purchased items.
The online platform now allows any monetary value loaded onto a membership card to be used for online redemptions, including game rewards or bonus offers.
Co-op members can make use of personalized offers while shopping through shop.coop, although this feature is not applicable when using third-party delivery applications like Deliveroo or Just Eat.
Last year, Co-op had announced a 67% increase in the number of personalized offers available to members, surpassing a total of 700 offers.
These personalized offers include renowned brands such as Huel, Pop Chips, Actimel, Pilgrims Choice, and Vimto.
Additionally, Co-op recently disclosed that member price savings are now accessible to customers via Just Eat, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Co-op’s own online store.
Rachel Halter, Customer Director at Co-op, remarked, “Our data reveals that a remarkable 88% of our online shoppers are Co-op members, making the introduction of this popular weekly member benefit online a reflection of Co-op’s dedication to consistently delivering value to our business owners.”
She added, “We are committed to expanding our membership to eight million by 2030, and the enhancement of our personalized offers is a testament to one of the numerous reasons to join Co-op, alongside other exceptional money-saving advantages and benefits such as exclusive access to presale tickets at Co-op Live.”
Co-op currently boasts about seven million members with a membership cost of £1.
This move comes following Co-op’s announcement of 18 new or revamped stores set to open in the initial three months of 2026. The first new store for 2026 was unveiled in the emerging Willowbrook Park neighborhood in Didcot, Oxfordshire.
Moreover, certain stores are set to reopen post-makeover, including the convenience store in Eastern Green, Coventry, and a franchised site in Ealing, London.
Co-op has also unveiled plans to generate thousands of new apprenticeships in the coming years. The retail chain disclosed a £70 million commitment through its Levy Share service to create 7,000 matched apprenticeships by 2030.
This scheme enables levy-paying employers to transfer unused apprenticeship levy funds to businesses, charities, and community organizations.
Since its inception four years ago, the scheme has matched over 3,800 apprenticeships, with two-thirds allocated to the most deprived communities and one-third to the care sector.
