“SeatGeek Canada Hit with $22,500 in Fines”

SeatGeek Canada has incurred two additional fines from the Ontario government for allegedly violating a recent law that limits the resale of event tickets at their original face value. According to the province’s consumer protection website, the latest fines imposed on the ticket resale platform this month amount to a combined total of $22,500.

The initial fine, totaling $15,000, was issued for allegedly listing a ticket for sale or facilitating its resale above the permitted price limit. The second penalty, amounting to $7,500, was imposed for purportedly failing to disclose the complete ticket price when a ticket was purchased directly from the primary seller.

No immediate responses were provided by both the province and SeatGeek Canada regarding the specific events linked to the fines or whether the company intends to contest the penalties. Earlier in August, the province had already fined the company $25,000 for comparable violations.
