“NASCAR Community Mourns Former Driver Chase Pistone”

Tributes are pouring in following the tragic passing of former NASCAR driver Chase Pistone, who passed away at the age of 42.

Although the cause of death has not been disclosed, Pistone’s family has requested to share the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline information alongside any news about his demise. His brother, Nick, confirmed the heartbreaking news on social media.

Expressing his grief, Nick wrote on Facebook, “My young brother and best friend is no more. I am shattered and unsure if I can ever overcome this loss. I already miss you, Chase, and I hope you are in a better place. I love you and miss you immensely.”

Renowned NASCAR figure Bubba Wallace also paid tribute to Pistone, remembering him as a fellow racer from their time in legends cars.

Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Pistone was the grandson of ‘Tiger’ Tom Pistone, a celebrated NASCAR driver with two Cup Series victories. During his career, Chase excelled with over 80 wins in Legends, Late Model, and USAR racing, including multiple Summer Shootout Champions Legends titles.

Pistone entered the NASCAR scene in 2005 in the Craftsman Truck Series with Green Light Racing, participating in a total of 10 races across NASCAR’s national series before concluding his NASCAR journey in 2014.

In a heartfelt request, Pistone’s sister-in-law, Phaedra, asked Hickory Motor Speedway in North Carolina to honor Chase’s memory during their upcoming race, highlighting his deep connection and fond memories with the racing community.

Responding to the request, Hickory Motor Speedway affirmed their commitment to respecting the family’s wishes and commemorating Pistone before the race. General manager Kevin Piercy praised Chase’s positive demeanor and expressed gratitude for their shared love for the Speedway, emphasizing the void left by his absence.
