Coronation Street’s character Will Driscoll is entangled in a distressing grooming narrative – but how old is actor Lucas Hodgson-Wale?
Lucas, who portrays Will, joined the ITV soap opera last year as part of a storyline that saw Will and his family relocate to Weatherfield. Will’s family includes his father Ben, grandmother Maggie, and Ben’s partner Eva Price, who returned after a seven-year absence.
The plot thickened when it was revealed that Will was being groomed by his athletic coach Megan, who followed him to Weatherfield to continue their illicit relationship.
Megan, now working as a teacher at Weatherfield High, has also become romantically involved with Daniel Osbourne, much to Will’s chagrin.
Despite keeping their relationship clandestine, Megan dropped a bombshell by revealing her pregnancy to Will. Initially planning for an abortion, Megan eventually decided to keep the baby and disclosed to Will that he was the father, to which he expressed his desire to be involved.
In a recent episode, Megan and Will rushed to the hospital for a check-up concerning their unborn child, nearly getting caught when Ben, Will’s father, was hospitalized for chest pains.
Megan later reassured Will about the baby’s well-being, showing him an ultrasound picture with joy. She advised maintaining distance until they could afford to leave the area.
Off-screen, Lucas, at 17, portrays the 16-year-old Will in his first television role on Coronation Street. Meanwhile, Megan’s actress, Beth Nixon, is 25 and will turn 26 this year. Nixon, also in her debut television role, previously auditioned twice for different characters before landing the role of Megan.
Coronation Street airs weekdays at 8:30 pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
