LIV Golf sensation Tyrrell Hatton expressed his frustration with the course after facing an early setback in his final round at The Masters on Sunday. Hatton, who started the day at 4-under following a level par on Saturday and a remarkable 66 on Friday, began positively with a birdie on the second hole but then dropped a shot on the 251-yard par-3 fourth hole, which proved to be a costly mistake.
His tee shot slightly overshot the green, setting up what should have been an easy two-putt for someone of his caliber. However, after missing his first attempt by about three feet, Hatton made a critical error on his putt, hitting the lip. The visibly frustrated 34-year-old, known for occasional outbursts, showed his disappointment through head shakes and muttered words before finally sinking the ball on his fourth try.
The tension continued as Wyndham Clark, in the following group, also had a similar misfortune with his par putt catching the lip, leading to a bogey, which prompted him to swear out loud. Despite these challenges, Hatton’s round improved with an eagle on the seventh hole and a birdie on the eighth, boosting his morale. The tough playing conditions at Augusta National, with firm greens due to the heat, contributed to the struggle faced by many players, including Hatton and his teammate Jon Rahm.
Rahm, who suffered three bogeys and finished 1-over for the tournament, acknowledged the unique challenges of the course conditions, vowing to make adjustments in his preparation for future events. Hatton, on the other hand, concluded his round at -10, taking the clubhouse lead as other contenders like Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose continued their pursuit. Golf enthusiasts can catch The Masters action starting on April 6 through Sky’s Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle, offering a wide range of channels and streaming services for an immersive viewing experience.
