“Martin Lewis Urges 14M Brits: Seek Better Mobile Deals Now!”

Consumer advocate Martin Lewis is encouraging 14 million individuals who have reached the end of their mobile contracts to seek better options. The founder of Moneysavingexpert.com cautioned that staying with the same provider post-contract could result in significant financial losses annually.

During The Martin Lewis Money Show LIVE on ITV, Lewis highlighted the consequences of loyalty, noting that non-loyal customers have enjoyed price reductions compared to those who remained idle. To determine contract status, individuals can text INFO to 85075 for free.

Lewis recommended exploring third-party websites for competitive SIM-only deals, emphasizing their cost-effectiveness over direct offers from mobile providers. Notable deals include Lebara’s 10GB for £3.50 and ID Mobile’s 50GB for £3.80 per month.

For those hesitant about switching to lesser-known providers, Lewis reassured that most networks in the UK, such as EE, Vodafone, Three, and O2, underpin other services. He advised customers to negotiate with their current provider or consider transferring their number by texting ‘PAC’ to 65075.

Moreover, Lewis suggested safeguarding mobile devices by noting the IMEI number, a unique identifier that can help block stolen handsets. By sharing this number with the police, individuals can prevent unauthorized use of their device, discouraging theft.

By following these recommendations, consumers can make informed decisions about their mobile contracts, potentially saving money and enhancing security.
