A man named James Saxon was found to have subjected his victim to a prolonged period of controlling abuse, as revealed during police questioning. Saxon isolated his victim from friends and family, monitored her movements, and engaged in a disturbing pattern of control and intimidation over a three-year span in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
From January 2022 to April 2025, Saxon systematically eroded the victim’s self-esteem, even during her pregnancy. The victim, who confronted Saxon in court, attributed his erratic and aggressive behavior to his drug use involving cocaine, cannabis, and steroids.
Footage from CCTV at the victim’s residence captured Saxon shouting and making threats, illustrating his efforts to dominate and control her. Additionally, Saxon harassed the victim even while on bail, using various means of communication to intimidate her and surveil her activities.
Saxon’s drug-induced paranoia led to delusions that further fueled his abusive behavior. He went as far as locking the victim in a room, causing her distress and prompting her to consider escaping through a window. His violence escalated, including punching a wall in a hospital after the victim’s miscarriage.
After his arrest, Saxon displayed a lack of remorse, laughing and making inappropriate comments during questioning by the police. The victim, in her testimony, expressed the profound impact of Saxon’s coercive and controlling actions on her mental and physical well-being.
In court, the victim detailed how Saxon’s behavior led to the loss of her pregnancy and inflicted emotional and physical harm upon her. Saxon pleaded guilty to his offenses and was sentenced to two years and three months in prison, along with a five-year restraining order.
Police emphasized the importance of reporting such behavior and commended the victim for her courage in speaking out against Saxon. They reiterated their commitment to protecting victims and holding offenders accountable for their actions.
