Lindsey Vonn has made a swift return to training just four weeks after suffering a severe leg injury in a frightening accident at the Winter Olympics. Vonn, aged 41, crashed during a downhill run in Italy shortly after tearing her cruciate ligament in a practice session.
Following the crash, she was airlifted to a hospital where she underwent corrective surgery for a broken leg. Vonn recently updated her fans, reassuring them that her leg was intact and shared videos on social media showing her lifting weights and putting weight on her injured leg.
In a social media post, Vonn expressed gratitude for the support she has received and emphasized her commitment to recovery, stating, “The only goal is to get healthy. One day at a time. #icandothis.”
NBA star LeBron James showed his support for Vonn, encouraging her with the message, “You Got This!! Small thing to a GIANT!! LFG!!”
Vonn’s update comes after she opened up about the mental challenges she faced following the injury, acknowledging the tough battle ahead but expressing determination to overcome it. She also shared details of her hospital stay, revealing struggles with low haemoglobin levels and the need for a blood transfusion due to multiple surgeries.
Currently using a wheelchair due to a broken ankle, Vonn remains positive about her recovery journey, aiming to progress to crutches soon and focusing on rehabilitation step by step.
