“Far-Right Neo-Nazis Threaten Abduction of Australian PM”

A group of far-right neo-Nazis reportedly made threats to abduct the Prime Minister of Australia following the Bondi Beach terror incident, as revealed in disturbing chat messages. Two police operations were initiated after leaked plans to target Anthony Albanese and plant explosives in mosques surfaced. An online chat log indicated an offer of £5000 ($10,000 AUD) to hire a van and seize Albanese to facilitate a regime change to a “nationalist” government. The group, predominantly comprising far-right individuals, formed during a white nationalist protest against perceived high immigration to Australia by an organization named March for Australia.

Messages leaked from the Discord group showed a user identified as “cav” proposing the sinister scheme to the group, as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald. “cav” suggested forcefully interrogating Albanese by abducting him and demanding answers to various questions. When questioned by another member if he would proceed with the plan, “cav” affirmed his willingness and requested assistance in executing the abduction. Another participant allegedly offered “cav” £5,000 ($10,000 AUD) to carry out the plan, leading “cav” to mention his transition into a realm of terrorism with a resolve to seize power through force.

In a subsequent development within the same Discord chat, a user named “xertz” claimed to have attracted police attention after discussing the creation and dispatch of bombs to mosques. Moderators eventually removed “xertz” from Discord due to references to terrorist activities.

Hugo Lennon, the organizer of March for Australia, denied knowledge of specific threats against Albanese or mosques, emphasizing the organization’s disapproval of violence. Meanwhile, Nathan Ballesty, a 27-year-old plumber, was arrested in a separate investigation related to a social media post hinting at the abduction of the Prime Minister. Ballesty’s association with neo-Nazis, notably the National Socialist Network, was highlighted through photographic evidence.

Albanese acknowledged the heightened threats during an interview on ABC’s Insiders, expressing his focus on the safety of all Australians rather than personal security concerns. He affirmed his trust in the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and authorities to handle the situation while underscoring his commitment to engaging with the public as the Prime Minister.
