“Dr Pepper Unveils ‘Cream Swirl’ Flavor at Gunwharf Quays”

Many shoppers expect to find good deals when visiting local stores or food stalls. I had a surprising experience during my weekend shopping trip.

As a resident of Portsmouth, Gunwharf Quays is the go-to shopping destination due to the decline of the high street. This waterfront designer outlet boasts over 90 stores offering discounts of up to 60% on renowned brands like Polo Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Nike, and more.

Aside from shopping, Gunwharf Quays features a variety of dining options with over 30 restaurants and cafes, including popular chains like Wagamama, Nando’s, and Brasserie Blanc.

The area is also home to the iconic Spinnaker Tower, offering breathtaking views of the Solent and Isle of Wight from its 170-meter height.

Entertainment options at Gunwharf Quays include a 14-screen Vue Cinema, a 26-lane Hollywood Bowl, a Grosvenor Casino, and the Aspex contemporary art gallery.

Visitors can enjoy powerboat rides, harbor tours, or leisurely walks along the marina to admire the visiting yachts.

Given its diverse offerings, Gunwharf Quays attracts a significant number of visitors annually, estimated at around 7.3 million.

As of 2025, it remains the top attraction in Portsmouth, drawing nearly 65% of the city’s visitors.

Considering its popularity, Gunwharf Quays serves as a prime location for brands to showcase their products, such as Dr Pepper with its latest limited-edition flavor, ‘Cream Swirl’.

During my recent visit, I encountered an unusual marketing tactic where a person dressed as a Dr Pepper can interacted with customers, sparking amusement and curiosity among onlookers.

Furthermore, an additional promotional feature included a man on a human hamster wheel with the slogan ‘Do you dare to cream?’, creating a surreal ambiance at the event.

Despite the unconventional marketing approach, it garnered attention, leading me to share the experience on social media platforms like TikTok.

The ‘Cream Swirl’ flavor, introduced in the UK in February 2026, combines Dr Pepper’s classic 23-flavor taste with a creamy twist and will be available until February 2027 at major retailers like Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Morrisons.

Supporting this unique flavor could ensure its success and potentially relieve the costumed promoter from future mall appearances!
