“Bus Fire in Aintree: Passengers Safely Evacuated”

Passengers were safely evacuated when a bus suddenly caught fire today on Ormskirk Road in Aintree. The incident, involving an Arriva bus, prompted a response from the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service at 11:55 am.

According to the fire service, the fire was extinguished by 12:15 pm, with the road temporarily closed towards switch island for the recovery of the bus. Fortunately, the bus driver and all passengers were safely evacuated before the fire broke out, and there have been no reported injuries.

Arriva confirmed the safe evacuation of all passengers, stating that the situation is being managed by the Merseyside Fire Service. Traffic disruptions are ongoing, and motorists are advised to avoid the area until the road is partially reopened.
