Alan Carr to Fulfill Childhood Dream with Castle Relocation

Alan Carr expressed his desire to relocate to a castle in a different part of the UK following his victory on Celebrity Traitors. Eager to move away from his former marital home, Carr plans to embark on a quest for an ideal castle complete with turrets, which will be featured in an upcoming series on Disney+.

Speaking to the Mirror, Carr shared his excitement about the prospect of acquiring a castle, stating, “I’m getting myself a castle. I fancied a change – I’m selling up and going up there.” The comedian emphasized that the decision is entirely his own as he looks forward to leaving behind the house he once shared with his ex-husband.

After being divorced for four years and now single, Carr is enthusiastic about the new chapter in his life. He revealed that despite not having seen the castles yet, he is heading to Scotland to explore potential properties.

While dismissing any speculation about becoming a Strictly Come Dancing presenter alongside Amanda Holden, Carr explained that both he and Holden are fully occupied with other commitments. He humorously pointed out that the show requires someone more passionate about dancing, a quality he feels he lacks.

Looking ahead to his upcoming projects, Carr is set to host a new series called Secret Genius on Channel 4 alongside Susie Dent. Additionally, he clarified that despite rumors, he and Holden will not be taking over the hosting duties on Strictly Come Dancing.

Carr’s decision to pursue living in a castle stems from his recent experience on Celebrity Traitors in the Scottish Highlands. Following the show’s conclusion, Carr noticed a surge in recognition from the public, likening it to feeling akin to a celebrity like Kim Kardashian.

Excited about his castle-buying venture, Carr announced a TV project titled Castle Man, where he aims to fulfill his childhood dream of residing in a grand historical estate. Executive producer Ben Wicks expressed enthusiasm for capturing Carr’s journey in finding and managing his castle on the show, highlighting the collaboration with Disney.

The 49-year-old comedian reflected on his past marriage to Paul Drayton, noting their split after Drayton’s legal troubles. As Carr approaches his 50th birthday, he sees this as the opportune time to turn his castle dream into reality, embracing the chance to live in a place filled with history and charm.
