“Israel Airstrike Kills 2 in Gaza, Including Child”

An airstrike carried out by Israel resulted in the deaths of two individuals in central Gaza Strip on Sunday, as confirmed by health authorities. The strike, which occurred near a bakery in Deir al-Balah, claimed the lives of a three-year-old child named Tayyem Hamdan and a man named Hussam Nusair, while also causing injuries to several others.

The Israeli military stated that the attack was targeting and successfully killing a Hamas militant, identified as Nusair, who was allegedly involved in launching attacks against Israeli personnel and civilians. Hamas has not issued an immediate response to the accusations made by the military.

Although a ceasefire backed by the U.S. was implemented last October to reduce major conflicts in the region, Israeli military actions have persisted, citing the need to prevent attacks by Hamas and other militant groups in Gaza. Hamas has criticized Israel for breaching the ceasefire terms and obstructing the broader peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, which includes Israeli pullouts and disarmament of Hamas.

Since the ceasefire came into effect last October, over 1,300 Palestinians have lost their lives in Gaza, according to health officials in the region, while the Israeli military reports that four of its soldiers have been killed in the same period.
