Anna Bout, Maithe Lopez, and Camila Reyes, who converted a penalty shot, also found the net for the Rise, with three goals coming in a quick 10-minute burst early in the second half. Elise Bell scored a consolation goal for the Rapid in the 82nd minute.
Following this win, the Rise climbed to fourth place in the league standings, edging past the Halifax Tide by one point. Their record now stands at seven wins, one draw, and nine losses, totaling 22 points. Despite the loss, the Rapid holds onto the top spot with 33 points, maintaining a three-point lead over the Montreal Roses. The Rapid has accumulated 10 wins, four losses, and three draws this season.
In terms of game statistics, the Rise held a slight edge in possession with 53% compared to the Rapid’s 47%. They also outshot the home team 17-8, with 11 shots on target against the Rapid’s three. Vancouver earned four corner kicks, while Ottawa secured three. Both teams received two yellow cards during the match.
Looking ahead, the Rise will face the Calgary Wild at home on Saturday, August 29, while the Rapid will visit AFC Toronto on Sunday, August 30.
