“Man Charged in Hampshire Housekeeper Murder Case”

A man aged 39 has been accused of the killing of a housekeeper found stabbed in her residence in a village in Hampshire. Gilly Livie, 68, was discovered by emergency medical personnel and law enforcement officers with severe injuries at her thatched cottage in Cheriton, Hampshire, at 10:30 a.m. on January 9. She was pronounced dead on-site, with a post-mortem examination indicating the cause of death as a stab wound to the neck.

Another man was also found at the location and was swiftly taken to the hospital with serious injuries, as confirmed by Hampshire police. The man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday and moved from the hospital to police custody.

In a statement on Tuesday, the police announced, “This evening, Daniel Livie, 39, residing at Winstreet Close, Alton, has been formally charged with murder.” Additionally, he is facing allegations of making threats to kill a man on January 8. Livie is scheduled to appear before Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
