“Nigel Farage Breaches MPs’ Code 17 Times: Income Probe Exposed”

After a probe revealed that Nigel Farage breached the MPs’ code of conduct 17 times last year by not promptly declaring his additional income, we delve into the earnings of all MPs. Farage failed to disclose his income from extra jobs within the required 28-day period, as mandated by parliamentary standards. The delayed declarations totaled £384,000 of his additional income.

This sum contributes to Farage’s overall fortune of £1.6 million from his 15 side roles since becoming an MP in July 2024. In addition to his annual MP salary of £93,904, Farage’s primary income source is his presenting job at GP News, which has garnered around £664,000. He has also earned £415,000 as an ambassador for Direct Bullion and £180,000 from Cameo, a video messaging platform.

The latest Register of Members Financial Interests sheds light on Rishi Sunak’s secondary employment. Sunak’s advisory role at AI firm Anthropic has generated £373,000 for a charity he established, the Richmond Project. He received 3,547 shares from Anthropic, valued at £373,000, which will be donated to charity over the next year. Sunak’s hourly rate for his work at Anthropic is approximately £5,300, based on an estimated 70 hours put in.

With the shares being distributed gradually, Sunak’s earnings from secondary jobs post-general election surpass £1.0 million, making him one of the highest-earning MPs in Parliament.
