Two individuals have lost their lives, and another person has been hurried to the hospital with severe injuries in the aftermath of a devastating collision.

Following the accident, the road was shut down to traffic overnight and reopened around 8:45 am the next day. Authorities are now seeking witnesses and individuals in possession of dashcam footage to assist in their investigation.

Details revealed that the collision took place between a blue Land Rover heading north on the A614 from Howden to Spalding Moor and a white Ford transit van traveling in the opposite direction near Holme Road outside Chestnut Farm. The occupants of the Land Rover, aged 55 and 27, were declared deceased at the scene, while the van driver was transported to the hospital with significant injuries.

A spokesperson for the police stated, “Law enforcement officials are probing a two-vehicle road traffic incident where two men tragically suffered fatal injuries near Holme Road in Holme on Spalding Moor around 9:55 pm on Sunday, January 18, 2026.”

The road closures on the A614 in Spaldington near Howden were necessary to ensure the safety of emergency responders, and the road has since been reopened.
