“Widdecombe Hospitalized After Mouse Rescue Mishap”

Reform UK’s Ann Widdecombe found herself in the hospital after sustaining an injury while rescuing a mouse from her cat. The former Conservative minister required treatment in the emergency room after slipping on a bathroom mat.

Widdecombe, who serves as Reform’s Immigration and Justice spokesperson, expressed gratitude to the medical staff for their care, calling them out with appreciation. In a magazine column, the 78-year-old detailed how she had a mishap between Christmas and New Year’s while attempting to save the mouse, humorously remarking on the unpredictable nature of mice and the entertainment they provide to felines.

Following a comical chase with her sister-in-law to capture the mouse, Widdecombe ended up slipping on a mat and taking a tumble. Despite setting the mouse free outside, she found herself in pain the next day and eventually sought treatment at A&E, reflecting on the irony of small things often being impactful in life.

Receiving care at Newton Abbot Community Hospital in Devon, Widdecombe contrasted her recent A&E experience with past visits to different hospitals. She commended the efficiency and attentive nature of the hospital staff, emphasizing the swift and thorough treatment she received.

The Celebrity Big Brother runner-up from 2018 highlighted the impressive service at the hospital, praising the relaxed and attentive staff who made her short stay comfortable and efficient. Within a few hours, she was examined, X-rayed, briefed, and discharged with all necessary information, noting the exceptional level of care and dedication displayed by the hospital team.
