“Urgent: Google Chrome Security Update Fights 74 Vulnerabilities”

Google Chrome users are urged to take immediate action as a critical security update has been released by Google to address 74 vulnerabilities in the browser. Among these vulnerabilities is a zero-day flaw known as CVE-2026-11645, which poses a significant threat. Zero-day vulnerabilities are particularly dangerous as they indicate that cybercriminals may exploit them before users have a chance to patch the issue.

Google has confirmed that the CVE-2026-11645 vulnerability is actively being exploited. However, detailed information on the impact and affected users has not been disclosed to prevent further exploitation until a significant number of Chrome users have updated their browsers.

To ensure protection, users are advised to check their Chrome browser version by accessing the menu and selecting About Chrome. If an update is available, users should restart Chrome to complete the installation process. The Stable Channel has been updated to version 149.0.7827.102/.103 for Windows and macOS, and version 149.0.7827.102 for Linux, with the update rollout expected to continue gradually.

Updating to the latest Chrome version is crucial in safeguarding devices and personal data from this newly identified security threat.
