A judge has ruled that a TikTok influencer, Harrison Sullivan, will not be required to repay the full expenses of his chartered flight from Spain to the UK. Sullivan, known as HSTikkyTokky on TikTok, had evaded court for almost a year after crashing his McLaren supercar in Surrey in March 2024. Despite being sentenced to jail time, he failed to appear in court and instead traveled to various countries, including Dubai, Thailand, and Spain, where he continued creating social media content.
Sullivan was eventually apprehended in Spain for unrelated matters, and Surrey Police organized a chartered flight costing around £15,000 to bring him back to the UK. The total expenses incurred by Surrey Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for his return totaled £28,350.27. However, Judge Julie Cooper decided not to order Sullivan to repay the entire cost of the flight as she deemed the use of a private jet unnecessary and disproportionate.
The decision was based on a risk assessment carried out by the National Extradition Unit (NEU), although the specifics were not disclosed in court. Despite concerns that Sullivan, a fitness influencer, might be recognized on a commercial flight, the judge found the use of a chartered flight unjustified. The defense argued that a first-class flight could have been sufficient to address any social media issues.
Judge Cooper ordered Sullivan to pay £9,270 in prosecution costs and £8,050.27 in police costs, totaling £17,320.27. The defense mentioned Sullivan’s fluctuating income and inability to make immediate payment, but the judge questioned his assets in the United Arab Emirates. She granted him six months to pay the sum and requested a follow-up if any issues arose.
Sullivan had previously received a suspended custodial sentence for dangerous driving and driving without insurance, along with a driving ban. He is required to wear an electronic tag for three months, perform 300 hours of unpaid work, and undergo 30 days of rehabilitation. Witnesses had reported seeing Sullivan driving at high speeds before the crash, which was later revealed to be 30mph over the speed limit.
In addition, Sullivan is expected to feature in a documentary exploring online misogyny’s impact on young boys. In response to past controversial remarks, he expressed indifference to criticisms, stating that he is unbothered by negative labels.
