When it comes to maintaining our well-being, sometimes we need a little extra assistance and guidance.
With over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK, catering to more than half a million customers per week, Tesco is readily available to lend a hand. They offer convenient access to prescriptions, a wide array of healthcare services, and the opportunity to consult their knowledgeable pharmacists while you go about your regular shopping.
For many individuals, finding time for crucial health check-ups amidst their hectic schedules can be challenging. When time is limited, seeking answers to health concerns from online sources can often lead to more stress than reassurance.
“That’s why we provide speedy and convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and various health and wellness products in our pharmacies that customers can utilize while they are already in the store,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.
From flu vaccinations and immunizations to weight management services, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a one-stop destination for friendly guidance. “Just a brief visit to the store can offer crucial reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.
Furthermore, pharmacists can help save your time by prescribing treatments for common conditions like sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.
Assistance is also available for long-term health concerns.
“Our Tesco Pharmacists have undergone additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and British Heart Foundation to provide guidance and information, raise awareness, and decrease the risk of cancer, heart and circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes,” discloses Tom. “While shopping at Tesco, simply approach the pharmacy counter and request to speak with the pharmacist wearing a Let’s Talk badge.
“For queries regarding heart health, our pharmacy teams are ready to conduct a quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure check – no hassle, no appointment required,” mentions Tom. “A brief visit to the store can offer peace of mind or prompt support if necessary.”
In the current year alone, Tesco Pharmacies have administered over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests to customers – a valuable service making a significant impact.
Not only customers benefit from the services provided by in-store pharmacies.
“Tesco employees can also take advantage of the convenience of support through our pharmacies and various health services,” adds Tom.
“All employees have access to virtual GP consultations and additional assistance on topics such as sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
