A well-known figure from the hit show Strictly Come Dancing has been announced as the new host of The Apprentice spin-off series, Unfinished Business, following Tom Allen’s departure from the role.
Angela Scanlon, who danced with Carlos Gu on Strictly in 2023, is a beloved personality at the BBC and has been speculated to potentially take over hosting duties on Strictly itself, following the exits of Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly at the end of 2025.
Unfinished Business, the companion show to The Apprentice, has been airing weekly for six years and complements the main program. In a recent update on the show’s official Instagram page, Angela was unveiled as the new face of the series.
Accompanied by a photo of Angela, the announcement read: “Angela Scanlon is geared up for action as she steps into the role of presenting The Apprentice: Unfinished Business! The show will not only feature industry professionals and celebrity enthusiasts but will also include weekly interviews with eliminated contestants, where Angela and the panel will delve into all the drama and inside information. The Apprentice: Unfinished Business is set to premiere soon on #iPlayer and #BBCSounds.”
Fans expressed excitement over having the Strictly star lead the show, with one enthusiast commenting: “Love this!! Yes pleaseeeee,” and another welcoming her with, “You’re Hired! Welcome onboard.” Angela responded to the positive reception, stating: “YES!!! BBC Two straight after the main show xx.”
Previous host Tom Allen decided to step down after six years on the show. In an emotional Instagram post, he bid farewell to The Apprentice: You’re Fired, expressing gratitude to Lord Sugar, Karren Brady, Tim Campbell, the show’s participants, and guest panelists.
Angela’s new role comes after her successful stint as a guest presenter on This Morning in December, where she received praise from viewers for her performance alongside Dermot O’Leary. Fans clamored for her to secure a permanent position on the show, lauding her skills and charisma.
