“Snooker World Champion Wu Yize Plans to Buy House, Travel with Prize Money”

Wu Yize, the newly crowned snooker world champion, expressed his heartfelt intention to use his prize money to purchase a house and treat his parents to a travel adventure. The 22-year-old clinched his first world title by defeating Shaun Murphy 10-6 at The Crucible on Monday.

The Chinese sensation not only secured the prestigious trophy but also bagged a substantial £500,000 in prize money. In an interview with SportsBoom, Wu shared his plans, stating, “Buy a house and take my parents traveling. There are many things I’d like to buy. My parents are the true champions. They are the source of my strength. I love them so much.”

Despite having clear aspirations for his winnings, Wu expressed a more immediate desire for rest, confessing, “I just want to have a good sleep. I was feeling the nerves throughout the full match, right now I just want to go to bed.”

Reflecting on his triumph, Wu highlighted the significance of his mother, who has been battling health issues. He emphasized her unwavering support and sacrifices, adding, “She is feeling much better now. This is the second time she has visited me in the UK. I think in the future I will take her more to be by my side.”

Jason Ferguson, the chairman of snooker’s governing body, commended Wu’s exceptional talent and determination, acknowledging the challenges the player and his family had overcome. Ferguson noted the symbolic importance of Wu’s victory and predicted a bright future for the young champion in the sport.
