Sky has introduced new free channels for its viewers, adding to the variety of content available on their platform. These channels, known as FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming Television) channels, cover a range of genres including sports, documentaries, and art. A total of six new services are now accessible without any additional cost.

The introduction of these channels is available on various devices such as Sky Glass Gen 2, Sky Glass Air, and Sky Stream boxes. Even users with older Sky Q devices can enjoy these channels through the Xumo Play app.

Sky assures users that no manual updates or retuning of devices are necessary as the update will be automatically applied. The new channels cater to different interests, providing a diverse viewing experience.

For sports enthusiasts, Sky has launched Sky Sports Classics, Sky Sports Vault, and Sky Sports Stories, offering a collection of sports-related content. Additionally, there are channels like Pick Monkey Rescue, Emergency 24/7 for emergency-themed shows, and Sky Artist of The Year for art lovers.

To access these channels, viewers can tune in directly or use voice search on their remote control. Apart from Sky, Virgin Media has also introduced two new free channels, British Screen Classics and wedotv movies, for movie enthusiasts. These channels are currently available on Virgin TV 360, Stream, or V6 boxes.

British Screen Classics showcases films and TV shows from ITV Studios and Studio Canal libraries, while wedotv movies offers a vast selection of contemporary movies across various genres. The expansion of free content offerings by Sky and Virgin Media provides viewers with more entertainment options at no extra cost.
