Sky customers in the UK are in for more streaming benefits as HBO Max has launched in the country. Subscribers with Sky Ultimate TV packages can now enjoy HBO Max without the usual £4.99 fee, offering access to popular titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, and more, leading to savings of over £50. Sky confirmed that customers with Ultimate TV, Sky Glass, and Sky Q plans are eligible for HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription.
The new service, available in the USA for some time, provides a vast collection of HBO dramas and Warner Bros. films, including fan-favorites like Succession and The Wire, along with new Max Originals such as The Pitt. To start streaming, customers on the mentioned Sky plans can easily activate HBO Max by launching the app from the homepage and following the on-screen instructions.
For those not on Sky Ultimate TV, switching to the plan starts from £22 per month, which will increase to £24 from April 1st. This package offers over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service. Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, Sophia Ahmad, highlighted the integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu into a single subscription, providing a seamless entertainment experience.
Additionally, NOW Entertainment customers will also receive HBO Max at no extra cost within the NOW app. Non-Sky subscribers can sign up for HBO Max directly on the website, with Standard with Ads plans beginning at £5.99.
