The devastated sibling of a young man who tragically lost his life in a fatal collision, along with three others, had pleaded with him to drive more cautiously after he had already been in a car accident just weeks before.
Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, 18, was identified as the driver of the vehicle that crashed head-on with a taxi in Bolton. The crash resulted in the deaths of Mukhtar, his friends Farhan Patel, 18, and Mohammed Danyaal, 19, as well as the taxi driver, Masrob Ali, 54.
In a poignant exchange of messages shared on TikTok, Mukhtar’s older brother, Miraj, 21, had warned him about the dangers of reckless driving. The conversation on WhatsApp included a cautionary message advising Mukhtar to be more responsible on the road to avoid tragic consequences.
According to a family acquaintance, Mukhtar had a penchant for speeding, and his brother had expressed concerns about his driving habits. The fatal crash occurred despite Miraj’s efforts to advise Mukhtar to drive more safely after a previous accident in which Mukhtar had flipped his car.
Mukhtar, who worked as a mechanic at his brother’s garage, often showcased his extensively modified car on social media, highlighting its enhancements and performance features.
A video capturing a vehicle traveling at excessive speeds on a busy street is being investigated in connection with the crash. The footage shows the car overtaking other vehicles and crossing into oncoming traffic, believed to have been recorded by an occupant of the vehicle involved in the collision.
The daughter of the deceased taxi driver expressed her disbelief and sorrow over the loss of her father, describing him as a gentle soul. Hundreds of mourners gathered at the central mosque in Bolton for the funeral of the teenagers, with tributes pouring in on social media platforms.
Friends of Danyaal initiated a fundraising campaign in his memory, aiming to honor his life by supporting those in need through charitable contributions.
Several passengers from both vehicles involved in the collision remain hospitalized for treatment, with one woman sustaining severe injuries. The authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident to determine the sequence of events leading to the crash.
