Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing legal action as investors filed a lawsuit accusing her of defrauding them by neglecting her responsibilities to develop and promote her mental health startup. The investors put in almost $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a venture that was introduced in 2021 with a mission to enhance users’ “mental fitness,” as stated in the lawsuit lodged in federal court in Delaware.
Investors claimed that they were led to believe that Gomez, a prominent figure on social media boasting over 500 million followers, would actively participate in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. However, they contend that Gomez and other company executives failed to uphold their commitments, such as the development of a mobile application.
The lawsuit asserts that Gomez allegedly signed a contract to fulfill her obligations but neglected to do so. The plaintiffs further allege that the company did not have a viable business plan and failed to meet fundamental responsibilities, like paying employees and vendors promptly.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet responded to requests for comment. The lawsuit reveals that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until a news article outlined them in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses.
