“PGA Tour Players React to Koepka’s Return & LIV Golf Uncertainty”

Tommy Fleetwood expressed his support for Brooks Koepka’s comeback to the PGA Tour and mentioned that LIV Golf has not approached him during the current postseason. Koepka recently left the Saudi-backed tour and will participate in the Farmers Insurance Open next week, marking a significant return to the PGA Tour.

With Koepka’s return, there is now pressure on LIV Golf to retain their other prominent players, as Patrick Reed hinted at the possibility of also returning to the PGA Tour. Fleetwood, currently ranked No.3 in the world, praised the PGA Tour for its prestigious events and substantial prize money, emphasizing his gratitude for being able to compete in such a competitive environment.

Regarding his own aspirations, Fleetwood aims for his first Major win after securing $10 million for his victory at the Tour Championships. He highlighted the importance of aligning one’s goals and dreams with the tournaments they play in, emphasizing the personal drive to excel in the sport.

LIV Golf, supported by the Public Investment Fund of Newcastle, made substantial investments in previous seasons, including Koepka’s $150 million deal and Jon Rahm’s lucrative contract. This year, the signings have been less high-profile, with new additions like Victor Perez, Laurie Canter, and others joining the roster.

Fleetwood, a Ryder Cup star, mentioned that despite the interest from LIV Golf in the past, they have not approached him recently. He acknowledged the competitive landscape and the decisions made by players to seek opportunities where they can excel, similar to Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour.

Shane Lowry, Fleetwood’s Ryder Cup teammate, commented positively on Koepka’s return and its potential impact on the PGA Tour. Lowry expressed his focus on his own game and his determination to perform well in upcoming tournaments, despite setbacks like his recent performance at the Dubai Invitational.
