Fans of the strangely popular Netflix show, Fake Profile, have been left ecstatic as the new series returns to the streaming platform.
First released in 2023 to a remarkably dedicated fanbase, the new season of the steamy drama is set to keep fans at the edges of their seats. During the first series, protagonist Camilla, portrayed by Carolina Miranda, signed up to a saucy dating site and met the man of her dreams, Fernando.
However, she later finds out that his real name is Miguel, and everything is not as it seems with her new love interest. As the story unfolds, viewers witness a web of scandal and lies unravel on screen.
The new season of the Columbian drama, which also stars Rodolfo Salas and Lincoln Palomeque, sees the return of Camilla and Miguel, as the compelling story moves forward neatly.
During the new series, Camilla finds herself impersonated on Tinder by someone who is attempting to lure men to their demise. But despite the tempestuous storyline, Netflix viewers have been singing the show’s praises.
Heading over to X formerly known as Twitter, fans shared their thoughts on the series. One viewer said: “Accidentally stayed up until 5am.. I blame it on the espresso martinis and this good show on Netflix called Fake Profile.” Another gushed: “Fake profile on Netflix is soooo good.” A third said: “Omfg Fake Profile on Netflix is sooo messyyyy.”
Meanwhile, a fourth impressed viewer said: “Watching ‘fake profile’ on Netflix, and boy, I tell ya.”
Netflix has been known to air dramas and documentaries that focus on online dating and how a false impersonated profile can lead to destruction. Last year, viewers were hooked after they watched the documentary Sweet Bobby.
The real-life documentary focuses on the journey of one woman who spent nearly a decade thinking she was in a relationship with a man she had never met. The extraordinary catfish story centres around Kirat Assi, 43, from west London, who fell into an elaborate deception involving a man named Bobby Jandu, whom she believed was a doctor.
Despite never interacting with Bobby on a video call or meeting in person, Kirat thought she was in a relationship with him.
Fake Profile is available to watch on Netflix.
