NatWest to Close 26 Bank Branches, Shift Focus to Digital Services

NatWest will close 26 bank branches this month, with additional closures scheduled for later in the year. Two branches in Cwmbran and Wisbech were already closed this week, and two more in Leicester and Rayleigh are set to close today. Since 2015, NatWest Group, which includes Royal Bank of Scotland and Ulster Bank, has closed 1,483 branches, according to data from Which? If you require in-person assistance, you can utilize any bank within the NatWest group for regular services. For instance, NatWest customers can use RBS branches and vice versa. Alternatively, you can explore the option of visiting a “mobile branch,” where staff members set up temporary service locations in communities for a limited time. You can conduct various services such as deposits, cash withdrawals, and bill payments at these locations. Additionally, you have the option to visit the Post Office for cash deposits and withdrawals, balance inquiries, and cheque deposits. A spokesperson for NatWest stated to The Mirror that over 80% of their active current account holders use digital services, while over 97% of retail accounts are opened online. Customers appreciate the convenience of digital banking for everyday transactions and value speaking to knowledgeable staff for more complex decisions. NatWest aims to adapt to evolving customer needs and industry trends by enhancing self-service capabilities and providing personalized experiences through digital services.
