Maya Jama Shuts Down Critics of Dental Transformation

Maya Jama, the host of Love Island, responded to critics who made comments about her recent dental work. The 31-year-old presenter made a comeback on the show “All Stars,” featuring former Islanders seeking love once again. Viewers quickly took to social media, particularly Twitter, to express opinions on Jama’s new appearance, with some referring to her teeth as “Turkey teeth” – a term associated with overly white and perfectly aligned veneers.

In a prompt reply, Jama clarified that she had actually undergone a braces treatment. Addressing a negative comment, she explained that she had braces behind her top teeth and on the outside of her bottom teeth. Jama’s dental transformation was no secret, as her dentists, Dr. Annika Patel and Dr. Rhona Eskander, had disclosed the treatment back in October 2025. They revealed on Instagram that Jama had chosen lingual braces, which discreetly straighten teeth from behind the surface while maintaining a natural smile throughout the process.

Fans expressed their support in the comments section, with one follower praising the outcome and others commending the dentists for their work. Love Island: All Stars returned to television after delays caused by wildfires. To make up for the postponed launch, an extra episode will air on Saturday night. The show continues to air on ITV2 and ITVX, with the next episode scheduled for 9 pm.

This latest development comes as Love Island fans eagerly anticipate the show’s return, following disruptions due to unforeseen circumstances.
