After undergoing multiple surgeries and dealing with compartment syndrome and a broken ankle, Vonn narrowly avoided amputation thanks to Dr. Tom Hackett’s intervention. The 41-year-old now faces a tough journey of physical and mental rehabilitation.
In a recent update, Vonn revealed the mental struggles she is encountering alongside her physical battle, emphasizing the importance of learning from past injuries. While acknowledging the tough road ahead, she remains determined to overcome the challenges.
Back in the United States, Vonn shared that her hospital stay was prolonged due to complications from surgeries, including low hemoglobin levels. Currently in a wheelchair due to a broken ankle, she is focused on starting rehabilitation and taking each step forward one at a time.
