The Isle of Man TT was interrupted due to a “serious incident” involving a rider and eight spectators, all of whom needed medical attention. The incident occurred at the exit of Parliament Square in Ramsey. Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson stated that the day’s remaining schedule was canceled as efforts were made to manage the situation.
A statement from the event indicated that the session was immediately halted, and all racing activities on the Mountain Course were suspended to address the serious incident. The incident involved a single competitor and several spectators. The competitor was taken to Nobles Hospital and is conscious and conversing despite leg injuries, receiving ongoing treatment.
Eight spectators also required treatment and were conscious when transferred to Nobles Hospital for further evaluation. To ensure effective management of the incident, all racing activities for the day were suspended. An investigative process involving race, medical, and safety personnel is now underway according to the event’s standard operating procedures.
The organizers expressed gratitude to the marshals, medical teams, emergency services, Manx Care, and all involved personnel for their response to the incident. The thoughts of the Isle of Man TT Races are with those affected. The 2026 event, covering a 37.7-mile (60km) route on closed public roads, is scheduled until June 6.
In a separate incident, the Southern 100 confirmed the death of rider Alan Oversby following an incident during the Pre-TT Classic Road Races on the Isle of Man.
