A travel industry expert predicts that Ibiza is on track to surpass Benidorm as the preferred destination for British hen and stag parties. Known as “The Stag Man,” Frank commended Ibiza for its vibrant nightlife and affordability, asserting that the island is reclaiming its status as a top party spot. While Benidorm has long been a popular choice for partygoers, Frank believes that the tide is turning towards Ibiza.
Frank, based in Tottenham, emphasized the resurgence of Ibiza as a prime holiday location for hen and stag festivities. He expressed confidence in Ibiza’s potential to outshine Benidorm and prevent both destinations from becoming less frequented. British tourists have historically dominated Benidorm’s tourism scene, with over 832,000 visitors in 2023. However, concerns about crime in Benidorm have prompted some travelers to explore alternative options like Ibiza.
Ibiza attracted over three million tourists from various countries in 2022, with its lively nightlife being a major draw. Frank anticipates a continued rise in Ibiza’s popularity, especially following a period of decline due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He highlighted the competitive pricing in Ibiza compared to Benidorm, attributing Benidorm’s challenges partly to security issues affecting visitor experience.
Despite his optimism for Ibiza, Frank plans to capitalize on the island’s growth while maintaining his businesses in Benidorm. His establishments, which cater predominantly to British vacationers, are spread across Alicante province. Ibiza, the third largest Balearic Island in terms of area and the second largest in population, is historically associated with electronic music clubs but has diversified its tourism offerings in recent years.
As Frank looks to leverage Ibiza’s resurgence, he remains committed to his ventures in Benidorm, adapting to the evolving preferences of holidaymakers in both destinations.
