Geordie Shore legend Sophie Kasaei has revealed the top-secret permission she was given by MTV bosses.
The TV star is heading to Thailand with the rest of her MTV cast as the hit reality show returns for its latest series. However, gone are her days of getting raunchy on screen – with the 35-year-old revealing that she was given permission to have sex away from the cameras for a surprisingly heart-warming reason.
The new series of Geordie Shore sees the likes of Nathan Henry, Chloe Ferry, Abbie Holborn and Scotty Timlin return to the series to celebrate Kyle Christie’s stag do in Thailand alongside Sophie, who was joined by her partner Jordan Brook. With the pair currently trying for their first child together, Sophie revealed in an exclusive chat with the Mirror that she asked producers if the couple could have sex away from the cameras in an attempt to conceive.
“We’re living in a house where you have to share a room of the boys and you have to share a room with the girls,” she said. “We don’t really get intimate moments and obviously we’re trying for a baby at the minute.
“There were times when I used to speak to producers, I was like, ‘I’m ovulating at the minute. Is there anywhere we can go [to have sex]?’ They said, ‘You’ve just got to be careful.'”
She added that while she was ovulating at times during filming, the couple decided against finding a secret nook to have sex in. “In the end, we just couldn’t be a***d. We thought, ‘We’ll just give it a month off,'” she said.
Sophie – who found fame on Geordie Shore back in 2011 – previously opened up about her hopes of becoming a mother, revealing that she’s felt “really lonely” during her struggle to conceive. “My friends around me weren’t really struggling. They never went through what I’ve been through,” she said in December.
“It’s really, really lonely. It’s hard. You get to a really low point where you feel like you’re on your own and there are so many emotions. All you want is a family and all you want is this beautiful baby with your partner and I just couldn’t get it. I still can’t to this day – but there are ways that I can eventually.”
Ahead of Geordie Shore, Sophie opened up about coming face to face with her cousin Marnie Simpson after the pair’s explosive row over Marnie’s rift with Sophie’s best friend Charlotte Crosby. Speaking about Marnie’s arrival in Thailand, she said: ““I didn’t know she was coming,” she says. “I ran to Jordan and said, ‘Marnie is here, what do I do?’ And he said, ‘Go in there – she is your cousin and that is your blood, your family. Work things out and do not speak to me unless you do.’”
