Greene King is offering complimentary pints of Guinness this weekend as the Six Nations rugby tournament begins. To receive your free pint, you must make a reservation for any Six Nations match on February 7 through the Greene King website and present your booking confirmation at the bar.
This promotion is valid at all Greene King sports pubs, including Flaming Grill, Hungry Horse, and Belhaven, as part of the new Fans Reunited campaign featuring Rugby World Cup champions Martin Johnson and Jason Robinson.
Zoe Bowley, the Managing Director of Greene King pubs, expressed that Fans Reunited highlights the significant role of sports and the pub environment in uniting people. The initiative, coinciding with the Guinness Six Nations, aims to facilitate reconnections among fans over a pint, inspired by moments where old acquaintances come together.
Rugby legend Martin Johnson emphasized the power of rugby in fostering lasting friendships and community bonds, echoing the essence of Greene King’s Fans Reunited campaign. The Treasury has recently announced a 15% reduction in business rates for pubs and music venues starting in April, following pressure to provide support post-budget changes and the easing of pandemic assistance.
Treasury minister Dan Tomlinson stated that pubs are set to receive an average support of £1,650 next year through this relief package, benefiting the entire pub sector. Emma McClarkin, the chief executive of the BBPA, welcomed the specific support for pubs, emphasizing its role in mitigating financial challenges and maintaining the viability of local establishments.
