“Farage’s Lavish Flights Funded by Donors for Trump Support”

Nigel Farage has accumulated over £151,000 in funded flights from donors to back Donald Trump since he became a Member of Parliament. Most recently, Farage attended a gathering at Trump’s Mar A Lago resort honoring US Military Veterans shortly before Trump made disparaging remarks about the sacrifices of British troops in Afghanistan.

Reports reveal that Farage was serving as an advisor to Hossein Ghandehari, an Iranian-born entrepreneur, during his visit to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland this week. Despite portraying himself as a champion of the common people, the leader of Reform UK spent a significant portion of his initial year as an MP shuttling back and forth across the Atlantic, often with affluent supporters covering the expenses.

In November, the Nigeria-born Lebanese billionaire Bassim Haidar footed a bill of £54,921 for flights for Farage and two associates to participate in a veterans’ event at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. In February 2025, GB News covered nearly £8,000 for Farage’s attendance at the pro-Trump CPAC conference in Washington DC.

Trips associated with Trump dominate Farage’s listings on the Commons Register of Interests. In January 2025, crypto investor and significant Reform donor Christopher Harborne financed £27,616 for travel and lodging for Trump’s inauguration, following a payment of £32,836 last summer for Farage to travel to the US and support Trump’s re-election campaign. There was controversy over this flight, with experts suggesting it could be viewed as a contribution to the Trump campaign.

Other entries include a £15,276 flight to meet tech mogul Elon Musk, who later criticized Farage as “weak,” and a donor-supported trip worth £3,353 to the New York Young Republicans Club, a group disbanded following reports of racist content on WhatsApp from its members.

Another flight, costing £9,353 and funded by George Cottrill, took Farage to an event organized by the pro-Trump American organization National Conservatism in Belgium. A spokesperson from the Green Party remarked, “Nigel Farage is a fraud. He portrays himself as a patriot while socializing with the American far-right, especially when Trump disrespects all British troops who perished fighting for America.”
