A fire incident at a home in Co Down resulted in the discovery of a cannabis factory, as per reports. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) were the first responders who found a significant amount of cannabis and related items among the flames in Newry.
Inspector Walker stated that they received a call about a house fire on Thomas Street in Bessbrook at approximately 4:25 pm on Sunday, January 18. Fortunately, no one was inside the house during the incident, and there were no reported injuries. The inspector assured the community that there was no further danger to the public from the fire, and the area was secured after the incident.
The authorities do not suspect foul play in the fire incident and are continuing their investigations, as reported by Belfast Live. The Police Service of Northern Ireland emphasized their focus on combating drug supply and urged anyone with relevant information to contact them via the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 870 of 18/01/25.
