Canada ended the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series impressively by clinching the Takasaki stop title with a 20-10 victory over Japan in the final. This marked their second championship of the season following their earlier win in Shanghai. The top-seeded Canadian team displayed dominance throughout the tournament, sweeping Pool A and securing victories against China (21-9) in the quarterfinals and Neftchi SOCAR (22-12) in the semifinals. Paige Crozon stood out in the match against China with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Merissah Russell contributed eight points in the semifinal game.
In the final showdown, Canada took an early lead and maintained control until the end, despite a late surge from Japan. The Canadians sealed their victory with a commanding 20-10 scoreline to claim the Takasaki title. Russell’s outstanding performance earned her the Takasaki MVP title, leading the tournament in player value (45.3) and drives (12), while ranking second in total points (32) and highlights (17).
Although Canada’s triumph in Takasaki marked a successful conclusion to their Women’s Series campaign, they will not progress to the Project Redwings Shanghai Final in September.
