Many were shocked this week when Brooklyn Beckham criticized his famous parents in a direct six-page Instagram post. Brooklyn, 26, accused David and Victoria Beckham of exerting control over him throughout his life, disrupting his wedding, and prioritizing the “Brand Beckham” image over him and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 31.
Brooklyn also alleged that his parents made continuous efforts to sabotage his relationship with Nicola before the wedding. He mentioned that Victoria, a fashion designer, abruptly canceled making Nicola’s dress at the last minute, despite Nicola’s excitement about wearing her design.
In addition, Brooklyn claimed that his mother, Victoria, 51, embarrassed him during their first dance at the high-profile wedding held in April 2022 in Palm Beach, Florida. The extravagant ceremony featured 500 guests, including many celebrities.
Following the issues at their initial wedding, Brooklyn and Nicola organized a vow renewal ceremony in August 2025 at Nicola’s family property in Westchester, New York. The intimate celebration had fewer than 20 attendees, with Nicola’s father, Nelson Peltz, officiating the ceremony. Nicola even wore a modified version of her mother’s 1985 wedding dress.
Notably, David, Victoria, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, were absent from the ceremony. Brooklyn and Nicola emphasized that the vow renewal was about reaffirming their love and creating a cherished memory together.
The couple shared photos from the ceremony online, captioning them with the words “Only love,” redirecting the focus to their relationship rather than external distractions. This statement implied a shift towards a more positive and intimate experience compared to their previous wedding.
In a separate post, Brooklyn expressed his unwavering support for his wife by captioning it “Forever my girl.” Reports indicate that Victoria has been deeply affected by Brooklyn’s statement, with sources close to the Beckhams revealing her shock and concern about the impact on the Beckham brand. They also suggested that Victoria and David are apprehensive about potential future revelations from Brooklyn.
Despite speculation that Nicola influenced Brooklyn’s actions, he asserted that speaking out was his choice.
