British Traveler Goes Missing in Thailand, Tourist Rescued from Jungle

A 21-year-old British traveler has gone missing while vacationing abroad. Joshua’s family became worried when he did not reach out to them after his arrival in Thailand, specifically in the popular tourist spot of Pattaya. Traveling solo, Joshua, hailing from Grimsby, was expected to depart Bangkok on January 19 and return to the UK on January 20.

According to a family member, Joshua had already checked into his hotel before his last conversation with his mother on Monday. His family has reached out to local authorities and the British embassy in Bangkok for assistance in locating him.

In a separate incident, a 63-year-old British tourist, Gordon Dewar, was rescued after getting lost in a jungle in northern Thailand. Dewar, who went off the main road to explore nature during a cycling trip, found himself stranded in dense terrain. After spending a night in the jungle filled with dangerous wildlife, he contacted the police for help.

Rescue teams, including motocross riders and drone operators, located Dewar the next day. Exhausted and dehydrated, Dewar expressed gratitude for being found in time. The rescue operation involved navigating steep paths due to the rugged landscape, with Dewar’s bicycle also being recovered. Despite dehydration and exhaustion, Dewar’s overall condition was reported as stable.
