“British Tourist Assaulted in Greek Hotel Room”

A female British tourist has reported being sexually assaulted by a male hotel employee in Greece. The incident allegedly occurred in her hotel room on the Greek island of Kos around 7 pm. The tourist, aged 45, informed the authorities that the 42-year-old suspect, identified as a Nigerian national, took advantage of her intoxicated state.

Following the complaint, local law enforcement on the popular resort island initiated a search for the alleged perpetrator, leading to his arrest. The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to face legal proceedings in front of the Kos District Court prosecutor.

This incident comes in the wake of several other cases where tourists have reported instances of sexual assault during their visits to Greece earlier this year. In one instance, a tourist on Rhodes accused her masseuse of inappropriate behavior during a massage session at a hotel in Kremasti, causing her discomfort. Subsequently, the victim pursued legal action against the alleged perpetrator.

In a separate incident in July on the island of Rhodes, a 16-year-old British girl claimed she was raped in the sea in front of a crowded beach. The girl, vacationing with her family, reported the incident to the authorities with her father, leading to the arrest of a 15-year-old boy from Belgium who allegedly was involved. The suspect claimed that the interaction was consensual, and the case has been referred to an investigating officer for further legal steps.

The accused individual has been presented before the Public Prosecutor on the island, who has transferred the case for ongoing legal investigation.
