“Beckhams Secure Approval for Exclusive Cotswolds Driveway”

David and Victoria Beckham have achieved a victory in their efforts to expand their estate in the Cotswolds. The couple had faced opposition from local residents regarding their proposal to build a new private driveway for exclusive use.

Their plan involves converting a farm track into a dedicated access road leading directly to their £12 million countryside property in Oxfordshire. Initially, they faced criticism for proceeding with an extension without obtaining proper planning permission, leading to a dispute with local council authorities.

After deliberation, planners have approved a “change of use” for the track, allowing it to be transformed into an 800-foot driveway solely for the Beckhams’ use. The current shared route serves guests of the popular celebrity venue Soho Farmhouse, frequented by notable figures like the Clooneys, Cara Delevingne, Daisy Lowe, and Molly-Mae Hague.

Despite objections from some locals expressing concerns about the impact on the area’s landscape and wildlife, the Beckhams’ proposal received the green light. The approved development includes the construction of new entrance gates, tree planting along the track, and ecological enhancements such as bird boxes, bug hotels, bat boxes, and hedgehog houses to promote biodiversity.

Construction work on the driveway extension began in June 2024 and is ongoing. The Beckhams, who also own a lavish mansion in London with amenities like an indoor pool, gym, and wine cellar, stated that the project is designed to blend seamlessly with its rural surroundings while addressing safety and operational needs.

Nestled in the Cotswolds, the Beckhams’ country retreat exudes charm and tranquility. Since purchasing the Grade II listed property in 2016, the couple has invested significantly in its refurbishment, including the creation of a vast lake with its own island, an orchard, and additional outbuildings.

With an extensive property portfolio that includes residences in Miami, the Beckhams, known for their estimated combined net worth of £500 million, split their time between the US and the UK. Their life and property ventures have been documented in Netflix series, shedding light on their opulent lifestyle and real estate holdings.

In a recent acquisition, the Beckhams reportedly acquired a sprawling Miami mansion overlooking Biscayne Bay for £55 million. The expansive property features nine bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a home cinema, personal spa, swimming pool, and chef-standard kitchen, complemented by outdoor entertainment spaces and a yacht mooring.

In addition to their Florida estate, the Beckhams also possess a penthouse in Miami, purchased for £18 million in 2020. The family’s diverse property holdings reflect their status as global icons and successful entrepreneurs, with David’s involvement in Inter Miami reinforcing their strong ties to the US.
