“Anthony Joshua Returns to Training After Tragic Car Accident”

Eddie Hearn gives an update on Anthony Joshua, who has returned to training at the gym after a tragic car accident in Nigeria claimed the lives of his close friends, Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami. Despite minor injuries, Joshua narrowly escaped death by changing seats before the accident. Recently, the former heavyweight champion was seen back in action at a gym in Dubai.

Hearn, Joshua’s longtime promoter with Matchroom Boxing, met with Joshua and shared a message on Instagram praising Joshua’s resilience and strength in the face of tragedy. While acknowledging the heavy loss Joshua has experienced, Hearn emphasized that Joshua is grateful for the outpouring of support and love for his departed friends.

Following the accident, questions have arisen about Joshua’s future in boxing. Hearn mentioned that Joshua would be taking a significant break from the sport. Hearn expressed that it is crucial to allow Joshua the time and space needed to recover mentally and emotionally from the traumatic incident.

Joshua has not yet made any public statements regarding his boxing career moving forward. However, he did pay tribute to Ayodele and Ghami on social media, expressing gratitude for their friendship and the impact they had on his life.

Legal proceedings against Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, the driver involved in the accident, are set to resume soon. Kayode faces charges related to causing death by dangerous driving, driving without due care, and driving without a valid driver’s license.
