Accused Driver in Anthony Joshua Car Crash Appears in Nigerian Court

The individual accused in the tragic car crash involving renowned boxer Anthony Joshua has made a court appearance in Nigeria. Joshua’s trainer, Latif Ayodele, and strength coach, Sina Ghami, lost their lives in a collision with a stationary lorry near Lagos. The driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, faced charges of causing death by dangerous driving and reckless behavior.

Kayode, aged 46, appeared in Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun state, with his case adjourned to March 13. He was released on bail and is also accused of driving without due care and lacking a valid driver’s license. Joshua, who survived the accident, has since returned to the UK for rehabilitation after being discharged from the hospital.

Expressing gratitude for the support received during his recovery, Joshua acknowledged the profound loss of his friends and emphasized their significant impact on his life. Determined to honor their memory, Joshua assured that measures are in place to carry forward their legacy and aspirations.
