The festivity began with The Mary Wallopers having their performance cut short after displaying the Palestinian flag and chanting “free Palestine.” Some artists withdrew in support, but the organizers issued an apology, emphasizing artists’ rights to express views respectfully.
Furthermore, comedian Chris McCausland canceled his appearance due to illness, but local acts like Crystal Tides and Marley Blandford stepped in to entertain the crowd. Marley’s impromptu performance was well-received, showcasing his talent and versatility.
