“Sainsbury’s Discontinues Popular Yeo Valley Yoghurts”

Sainsbury’s customers express disappointment as the supermarket announces the discontinuation of a popular breakfast item from its shelves. The Yeo Valley Organic Greek Recipe Peach & Raspberry Yoghurts, priced at £1.35 per pot, are now marked as “out of stock” on the retailer’s website. Launched in April 2024, each pot contained 12g of protein, calcium, vitamins B12 and B2, with no artificial ingredients.

The product range originally offered three flavors: Lemon, Peach & Raspberry, and Strawberry & Passion fruit. Known for being gluten-free, organic, and suitable for vegetarians, it was favored by those seeking protein-rich snacks.

Following inquiries from shoppers, a Sainsbury’s customer service representative on Twitter confirmed the discontinuation of the yogurts. The retailer apologized for the stock issues and officially announced the product’s removal from stores. Disappointed fans acknowledged the news but appreciated the effort of the customer service agent. A Sainsbury’s spokesperson explained that the decision was part of routine range reviews based on various factors.

Sainsbury’s suggests customers explore alternative strained yogurts, like the new by Sainsbury’s Protein Fat Free Yoghurts, available in various flavors sweetened with natural fruit. While the Lemon Yeo Valley and Strawberry & Passion fruit flavors are also listed as “out of stock” on the website, it remains unclear if they are discontinued. The Yeo Valley products are still available at other supermarkets and retailers.

For those seeking the Peach & Raspberry flavor, Abel & Cole offers the yogurt at £1.45 per pot, with the other flavors temporarily unavailable on their website. This discontinuation by Sainsbury’s is part of a trend among supermarkets, with an increase in searches for “High protein diet” observed on Google Trends in recent years.
