“Widow’s Bay Dominates 78th Emmy Awards with Record 14 Wins”

The 78th Emmy Awards were held on September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The red carpet, which was blue this year in honor of NBC’s 100th anniversary, saw stars from the small screen in attendance. Hosted by actor Mariska Hargitay, the event recognized excellence in television, with “Widow’s Bay” standing out as the most awarded show of the night. The Apple TV horror-comedy secured a total of 14 Emmys, setting a new record for a comedy series in a single year.

Notable individual winners included Noah Wyle for lead actor in a drama, Rhea Seehorn for lead actress in a drama, and Jean Smart for lead actress in a comedy. Matthew Rhys had a remarkable evening, winning multiple awards including lead actor in a limited series or movie.

The ceremony featured various special performances and reunions, including a tribute to Dolly Parton led by Reba McEntire, a special appearance by “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” stars, and a celebration of the 50th anniversary of “Charlie’s Angels” by its original cast members.
