“Formula One Legend Alain Prost Injured in Violent Robbery”

Formula One icon Alain Prost, a legendary racer with four world championship titles, was reportedly injured in a violent robbery at his residence in Switzerland. The 71-year-old racing legend, known for his successful stints with Williams, McLaren, and Ferrari, suffered a head injury during the incident.

Prost, a prominent figure in the racing world, competed for 13 years from 1980 to 1993, setting records for the most podium finishes (106), wins (51), and fastest laps (41). Notably, he engaged in a historic rivalry with the late Ayrton Senna during his Formula One career.

While Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen share the title of fourth-most Drivers’ Championships with Prost, Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, and Juan Manuel Fangio have achieved more. However, the French racing legend is now making headlines for unfortunate reasons.

According to reports from Swiss newspaper Blick, a group of masked intruders broke into Prost’s family home on Tuesday morning, threatening his family members and forcing one to open a safe in Nyon, located near Lake Geneva. One of Prost’s sons was coerced into opening the safe, which was then emptied of its contents.

Although the exact items stolen remain unclear, it is mentioned that Prost has close ties to luxury watch brands. The family has not commented on the incident, raising concerns about safety in the Lake Geneva area, where 18 robbery cases were reported in 2025.

Authorities suspect that highly organized criminal groups are targeting affluent residents, particularly those owning luxury items like watches, in this exclusive Swiss residential area. Despite retiring from racing over 30 years ago, Prost, who turned 71 in February, continues to support and mentor young talents in the motorsport industry.

Red Bull Racing’s Isack Hadjar has been dubbed “Petit Prost” by Helmut Marko, to which Prost responded by praising Hadjar’s strong personality and individuality in racing. Prost expressed willingness to share his expertise with the younger generation of racers.
