“Flight route extensions and heightened fuel expenses due to airspace closures, coupled with geopolitical tensions elevating oil prices, can lead to broader inflationary pressures affecting travel expenditures.”
These concerns coincide with anticipated increases in energy bills this summer due to escalating wholesale rates. The recent Ofgem price cap adjustment lowered to £1,641 for the average dual fuel household.
However, Cornwall Insight forecasts a rise to £1,929 per year for a typical household under the July price cap, marking an 18% surge from April’s cap.
The current cost of refueling a standard 55-liter family vehicle with diesel has surpassed £100. Recent data from the RAC indicates diesel prices at 184.20p per liter and unleaded petrol at 153.68p per liter.
